1. Lemonade Insurance Company
Lemonade Insurance is a newer type of insurance company that uses artificial intelligence to speed up the insurance process. Application, underwriting, and claims are also almost completely digital, making each of those processes incredibly fast. Customers notice, and give Lemonade high marks for its speed and ease of use. Lemonade also landed in the top spot on the Clearsurance list of top ten homeowners insurance companies based on the ease of the buying process.

2. North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company (available in North Carolina only)
Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance companies such as the North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company were formed to address a problem. Farming can be dangerous, and because of this, frequently the insurance offered to farmers was unaffordable. In 1953, the North Carolina Farm Bureau formed to provide affordable insurance for farmers. Now, the company has grown and offers a range of insurance products, including homeowners insurance, to North Carolina residents.

3. USAA (available to military members and their families)
USAA Insurance has a devoted fan base that praises its service and pricing across the range of insurance it offers, including high ratings for its home insurance pricing. However, in order to qualify for USAA insurance, you must be an active or former member of the military, or related to someone who is.
Check and see if you are eligible to become a USAA member. Given its high ratings across many lines of insurance, it’s worth checking to see if you’re eligible. 4. Meemic Insurance Company (available to educators in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin)
Meemic Insurance Company began as the Michigan Educational Employees Mutual Insurance Company, known by its acronym M.E.E.M.I.C., an insurance company that serves educators. Eventually, they decided to drop the acronym and now are just called Meemic.
This is another insurance offering that requires eligibility. To be eligible, you must either teach or be on the staff of a school. That includes public, private, parochial or charter schools, and covers from elementary through high school. You may also be on the staff at a college or university to qualify, along with those who have retired from education positions.

5. NJM Insurance Group (available in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania)
NJM Insurance was founded in 1913 as the New Jersey Manufacturers Casualty Insurance Company to assist injured workers with medical care and lost wages. NJM later expanded to serving the personal market by providing auto insurance and homeowners coverage, and now provides a range of personal and commercial insurance products in various Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

6. American International Group, Inc. (AIG)
AIG is a global insurance company that provides a wide range of personal and commercial insurance products. Founded in 1919 as American Asiatic Underwriters, the company now operates in more than 80 countries and jurisdictions.
