  • Driver training discount: NJM offers a discount to drivers under the age of 21 if they have completed 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of driving training, or 12 hours in an approved driving simulator and three hours of driving training.
  • Defensive driving: NJM policyholders can save 5 percent on liability, collision and PIP premiums by completing a course that’s been approved by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.
  • Multi-policy discount: Policyholders can save on homeowners and car insurance premiums by bundling both policies together with NJM.

  • Multi-car discount: NJM customers can save money by having two or more vehicles insured on the same policy.
  • Anti-theft discount: NJM offers discounts for each car on a policy that has an anti-theft or vehicle recovery device.

Can anyone get NJM Insurance?

NJM insurance products are open to all New Jersey and Pennsylvania residents and businesses as of October 1, 2018.

Does NJM cover rental cars?

NJM car insurance covers a rental car if you have collision and comprehensive coverage for at least one of the vehicles on your policy. You will have the same deductible for the rental car that you do for your car. NJM rental car coverage is only available for cars rented in the United States and its territories, Puerto Rico and Canada.

Does NJM have gap insurance?

NJM offers gap insurance as an optional coverage for NJM auto policyholders who live in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It’s called the Auto Loan/Lease coverage endorsement. NJM gap insurance helps pay for the difference between the balance of your car loan or lease and what your car is worth if it’s totalled.

Does NJM have life insurance?

NJM doesn’t offer life insurance. The insurance products NJM offers are auto and recreation, home and property, umbrella, workers’ compensation, commercial auto and commercial general liability.

What is NJM SafeDrive?

NJM SafeDrive is an optional program for NJM car insurance policyholders that monitors your driving, offers a discount on your car insurance and provides you with feedback on how to become a safer driver. NJM SafeDrive uses a mobile app to monitor your acceleration, speed, braking, cornering and distracted driving. Drivers who enroll automatically receive a participation discount.
