Insure.com Customer Ratings and Reviews in 2024

Insure.com says it provides “a comprehensive array of information on life, health, auto and home insurance,” and the site does have a library of articles on these topics. But that’s not all Insure.com does. It’s also an online lead generation marketplace, where consumers can obtain comparative car, home, life and health insurance quotes after sharing their personal information.

Insure.com is owned by QuinStreet, an online marketing company that operates multiple websites dedicated to generating insurance customer leads. Insure.com’s site allows customers to provide their personal information, and an insurance company, one of QuinStreet’s “affiliate partners,” will provide a price quote. According to customer feedback, this typically happens over the phone. QuinStreet, Inc. also is a licensed insurance agency, so the company can receive commissions from other agents and the insurance companies they are appointed to do business with.

Based in San Mateo, CA, QuinStreet and Insure.com have been in business since 1999.

What customers say about Insure.com

Insure.com’s parent QuinStreet has been accredited with the Better Business Bureau since March 6, 2000 and has a rating of A+. As of May 21, 2018, BBB had received only 12 customer reviews for QuinStreet, eight positive and four negative.

BBB also has received a total of nine customer complaints about QuinStreet. Customers complain about repeated solicitations from different insurance agents, difficulty getting off contact list for telephone calls, and the inability to easily unsubscribe from continuous email solicitations. It appears that Insure.com sells customer leads to multiple affiliate partners, making it difficult for customers to stop these telephone and email solicitations.

Some insurance agents also have complained that QuinStreet’s leads are either not great quality or legitimate.

A QuinStreet representative did respond to customer complaints on BBB, showing that the company is actively engaged with its customers.

To get a more detailed idea of how Insure.com and its competitors perform, Clearsurance conducted a survey of 789 customers who used nine of the most visible online marketplaces to obtain online car insurance quotes.

Ninety-four Insure.com customers provided feedback, with 80 percent of those giving the company a positive rating. Overall, Insure.com earned 4.12 out of 5 stars. A very high 89.4 percent of survey respondents said they were completely comfortable with how their personal information was used by Insure.com. And 86.2 percent of respondents said that using Insure.com made for a better experience than if they had chosen not to use the site.

Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Insure.com’s users said they would recommend the company to a friend.
