Germania Mutual Aid Association was organized in 1896 in Perry, Texas to protect farm property in small and rural communities, which was not an easy task at the time. The company underwent a few name changes but became Germania Farm Mutual Insurance Association (GFMIA) in 1982 and is now known as Germania Insurance. The association has over 200,000 members as a farm mutual and only sells insurance in Texas as a membership organization.
